Description

This piece of vintage glassware is quite simple in design. Measuring approximately 5.5” tall and 4” wide at its base, the jar is decorated with colorful text repeating the words “jelly bean” in four rows around its entire circumference. The glass lid is fitted with a plastic stopper to maintain the freshness of the sweet treats inside.

There are no markings on the jar to indicate a company or year of manufacture.

Notes

A similar jar was also made around this same time which features seven lines of text and measures approximately 6.5” tall.

Finding This Item

The word “jelly” was legible on the jar in the scene referenced above which made identification of the jar quite easy. Once it was discovered that a taller version of this container also exists, determining which one was in Jeanie’s room was as simple as counting the number of lines of text seen on the jar in the film. While a belt on Jeanie’s side table hides the bottom of the jar, two lines of text are visible and the belt doesn’t cover enough of the jar that there could possibly be five lines of text behind it.
